Hi Buster, I know you’re probably devastated right now, but please take heart. I’ve been where you are, I shattered my ankle in a hiking fall 13 years ago, and it healed well and quickly, and I can do everything I could before. I’m so glad it wasn’t your knee, because believe me, that is so much worse. I was your age when I had my first severe knee injury, and I just could not believe my body would let me down like that. I blew off alot of my rehab, and boy have I paid the price. So take a bit of advice from an old lady: do all the rehab. I have faith you’ll be back and playing like the champ you are in the not-too-distant future.
I was scared the second I saw him get hit. Having been a catcher before, I know how scary it is when something like that happens. You are in such a vulnerable position, even with all the gear on. I am so sorry that this happened to you. You do not deserve it AT ALL. You are an amazing player and deserve to play this game, because you are truly a role model for young aspiring players. I hope you get better soon and will be able to play again this season. You are such an important player and I will miss watching you out there everyday, but I know you will be back very soon. I spent today, my head occupied and concerned, anxious to hear if you were alright. I’m going to miss you behind home plate in the catcher’s helmet.
