Buster Posey! I swear I see the number 28 everywhere now, and everytime I see it I think of you! I fell asleep with my fingers crossed on Wednesday hoping you would be okay and here’s to hoping you a full and speedy recovery, get well, Buster! We miss you!
We miss you and hope all goes well for you so you can be back with the Giants soon. We watch every game as Matt is our grandson. Bud and Betty Cain
As my three year old put it so succinctly, ‘Buster is not going away dad, he’ll be back’. As one of your youngest and most loyal fans, Aiden says you’re still ‘his guy’. Pictures from the Sports weekly edition where you are tagging out Ruiz at the plate adorn his wall. You are his hero and IMHO a stellar role model for all serious young players. Hang tough Buster, you will be missed and we can’t wait to get you back in the uni next spring!
Good morning, my little chickadee! i heard the surgery went well, that’s awesome. the pain’s going to let up before too long, you’ll see. this is the voice of experience speaking, from your friend Caryl, the poem-writing, advice-giving old lady.
ok, are you ready for the day’s installment of corny poetry? i’m writing these down and will send you a hard copy after i finish them all. the trouble is, i can’t remember which batch i sent you yesterday…so there may be some repeats in here. bear with an old fogey, ok? here goes:
Our sweetheart’s Eli Whiteside
he keeps us on the bright side
for games he is the right guide
and he sure won’t from a fight hide. (referring to him hitting back at Prince Fielder, that oaf)
Our bench coach is Ron Wotus
he’s serene just like the lotus
o’er the ups and downs he’ll tote us
and we love him and take notice.
We love our pitcher Vogie
on the bump he sure ain’t logy
he hurls like no old fogey
and he’s also a handsome dogie.
Our tall guy’s Brandon Belt
those baseballs he can pelt
his talents will sure be felt
and he makes the ladies melt.
Our blond bombshell is Mikey
he creeps into your psyche
the victims of his throws say, “Crikey!”
and the pitchers he hits on, “no likee”.
A strong reliever’s Mota
he sure ‘nuf gets our vote-a
when he smokes that ol’ pelota
to the plate – that’s all she wrote-a.
Our fiesty big guy’s MadBum
he’s a North Carolina come-from
he deals ’em hard and then some
and the batters be cussin’ “dad-gum!”
We love our Jonny Sanchez
our pitching he enhances
the hitters he puts in trances
as from the bump he hurls his lances.
ok now all these i wrote yesterday, some in the middle of the night; since you got hurt, i haven’t slept the night through, so at least i’m doing something with my time! we all really felt it that night, Buster – we felt it in our bodies, our hearts, and our souls. But fortunately, the healing has begun!!!
i’ll do another post for the ones i wrote in the wee hours of this morning…
So glad to hear your surgery went well. Take all the time you need to recover and we’ll be cheering for you all the way to next season!
As the mother whose daughter had a traumatic fall while dancing and broke her foot, I know the agony and heartbreak of this type of set-back. But you’re hurt and you will heal.
Good luck with all the rehab, your new twins and be patient with your wife as she has to adapt to you being home this time of year!! Love you and can’t wait for Spring Training.
“Buster Baseball” we love you. Hang in there! Back in 2012.
Hey Buster,
YOU GET WELL BUDDY! HAVE A GOOD RECOVERY AND #28 WILL BE PLAYIN BASEBALL SOON!
Get well soon Buster. I was heartbroken when I heard the news and it still makes me sad just thinking about it. But, the most important thing is your health. Take all the time you need to come back and kick butt with the Giant’s. We’ll see you out there soon enough doing what you do best for this team. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Buster, You have left a mark on our family since we met you during the Trophy Tour in NYC. Your professionalism and candor set you apart from the rest. Besides this you and a couple of others are GIANTS, the first players we can link to the past heroes of the team. Get better soon. We miss you already!!-The Mintz Family (NYC)
Hang in there, kid! When you come back you’ll be better than ever!!! San Francisco loves Buster!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get well Buster, remember what you said in college at when you threw a runner out at second, ” I ain’t havin’ that. I ain’t havin’ that.” Keep the killer instinct!
I am so sad about what happened to you and am praying for you to have a quick and painless recovery! I can’t wait to see you all better and out there again! You’re one of my favorite players! Get well soon!
Gerald,
you are the heart and soul of this team, and the future of this Giants franchise. Press on man, stay hungry, and dont lose that eye of the tiger. Continue to be a Lion Heart. Remember, the word “crisis” is literally translated to mean: danger AND opportunity. We wish you, and your wife the best in these few months. You will come out of this more refined as a person. Remember: Winning is everything!
Dear Buster,
Honestly you are my hero and after you got hurt I was checking the Giants home page every hour to see if there were any updates. I can’t wait until you start playing again, the Giants aren’t the same without you. Get better Buster, we all miss you so much
-Syd

hopin’ and prayin’ for your speedy recovery.
Your’e our man and we can’t wait till you’re back!
My best, Elyn
Get well wishes from the Fernandez family & The Crew at the Pajaro Dunes Fire Department.
Buster,
Three weeks into a sports injury myself where I broke both bones in my (R) lower leg ankle resulting in the placement of a plate and 8 screws, I can say this….It’s hard, it’s tough and it sucks that you can’t do what you love. Hang in there and take care of yourself for you first, then for all your fans. You will be back, its the nature of who your are…..Keep the faith.
Huggs!
Carol Ferrari
Dear Buster,
I hope you get well, i remember when i first met you at the Giants Fan Fest and I was so excited about your coming up. I loved you in SJ. Your the man, stay strong and things will get well for you. Im glad things worked out for the surgery, as i figured they would. I wish you and the guys a strong end to the year. You have brought so much character and Class to this game, and i wish you the best of luck in the future.
stay healthy,
-Nicolai
Get well soon! Eli had a nice hit on Prince Friday night!
Right along with your ankle, hearts were breaking, too. And as you recover so will we. Ain’t no way you’ll be able to avoid the healing tide of so many well-wishing fans. All the best to you, Buster. We’ll be counting the days …
Buster,
You’re my favorite player. I like how good you are at gunning down runners that try to steal a base. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I wish you a speedy recovery.
we miss and love you and you will be back….just do all the right things to heal….k? with love sharon in clearlake ca. but from sanrafael ca. origanally
To paraphrase Kruk and Kuip, 40,000 fans didn’t care what the score was… The silence was only broken by the fans chanting “Posey Posey Posey”. It was gut wrenching to see, I knew it was bad. You have the well wishes of so many. I hope you can feed on that energy while you begin the healing process. Best wishes to you, your wife and the soon to be new babies! ❤ We will miss you and we will await your return!
Get well soon Buster! I’ll be praying for a speedy recovery! Go Giants! #28 ❤
Buster, like most fans, everyone in my household was extremely sad to see you get hurt. More than anything we are bummed for you because we can’t imagine how you feel. As fans of yours we are behind you and we will be here when you lace ’em up again cheering like crazy for you. Most importantly we are praying for a full recovery for you. You are my son Joshua’s favorite player. He is 5 and when he heard about your injury he was crushed. He made you a card and wants to send it to you, hopefully we find a way to do that. Until then this is what he asked me to write to you for him…
“We hope your leg feels better, I will send you a card that I made you to help cheer you up. Get better soon!!!”
…you and your family will be in our prayers.
Jacob and Joshua Cullers
We will miss you, but we won’t forget you. Take good care of yourself and come back stronger than ever!
A Giants fan from Visalia, CA

Get well soon buddy! The team needs you! The fans need you! I need you! The Giants aren’t the same without their catcher to lead them through the game. You brought us the mojo. We need you back! Feel better and hope to see you in the playoffs! GO GIANTS!
Hey Buster! I hope that you get better soon. You are a great baseball player and the Giants really need you… you make the team better and you are a great part of that team. Hope news gets better and that you get well and are able to come back sooner than expected! Love, Barbara 🙂
We love you Buster! We have been thinking about you a lot and hope you are feeling better now that you are on the road to recovery. I guess the silver lining is that you will really get to enjoy being a new dad at home. Can’t wait to see you play next year!
Get well soon buster. This team is not the same without you. I hope you are rooting on Eli Whiteside along with the rest of your teammates. When you fell better make an appearance at the ballpark as much as possible to fire up the team. Good luck with your recovery.
We all love you, Buster! You’re in our thoughts and prayers everyday. Heal well… your health is more important to San Francisco that how quickly you get back in the game. Rest easy, and enjoy this time with your family! We’ll all be cheering for your recovery at every game 🙂
Feel better soon – I’m sorry you were injured abd hurt.
*HUGE* *HUGE* loss to our Giants this season – you are invaluable to the team.

We’ll miss you, but don’t push it. We want you to heal completely. Too many crazies out there that might try and take you out again. Sorry to say that, but it’s true. Get perfectly well and then kick some Buster butt!!
It’s awful. Terrible. Buster, I wish you a good recovery and hope your back soon. Next year, you will be the one and only Buster Posey once again.
Hey Buster,
You’re a strong person and an amazing baseball player. You may be out this season, but I know you’ll be back, better than ever, next year. I hope you’re able to take the time off to spend more time with your wife and children. We ❤ you, Buster!
Hey Buster,
I cringed looking at the play, and I cringe thinking of my Giants without you. Miss ya buddy, my thoughts are with you.
