Dear Buster, just by one swing of a bat you have made a difference on this team! You have a heart of gold and that is one of the reasons why so many fans have fallen in love with you as a player! We all know that you are hurting and probably wish you could be out on the field right now, but we are all praying for you and will certainly miss you while you are gone! I’m not exaggerating when I say you’ve had a profound effect on my life. My 7 year-old got the baseball bug watching rookie 28 last summer. I didn’t grow up with baseball (soccer) but fell in love with the game 20 years ago but now learning to umpire (because of that 7-year old) and understanding more and more that I know very little about the game. I’m guessing that your injury is similar to what sometimes happens in soccer; low-down, bone, ligaments et al. It won’t be easy getting back, but I think everyone knows that 28 will rise to that challenge and come back better. All the best Buster.

Buster, I live about three hours away from the yard and try to catch atleast two games a month. I was there on Wednesday. The car ride was very quiet all the back worrying about you. I hope this all passes quickly for you and all the best to you and your family.
