The results of the game last night became so unimportant the second that you were injured. I felt as if you were one of my boys. My heart goes out to you. Please know that there are so many people wishing you a speedy recovery. As soon as you can, get back to the game, make your presence known. Let the fans see you with your fellow team members. We want to see you playing behind the plate ASAP…when you are ready, of course, but until then, we just need to see our Buster Posey!

Dear Buster, I was just talking about you last night as I was watching the game with friends, about how I got a picture of you putting on your knee pads about a month ago when I was at that game and you also signed my ball. How thrilled I was to see such a nice young man filled with all of the joys of playing baseball and still being so kind to the fans. I will never forget that night. And I will never forget last night as I watched you getting crashed into at the plate. My heart aches for your sadness of not being able to play your favorite game. I don’t remember a better catcher than you unless it was Johnny Bench back in the 70’s and you are probably better than him anyway. He wasn’t even a Giant for heavens sake. (Cinn. Reds with Pete Rose) I have been watching baseball for 55 years and wished that I was a boy when I was ten years old so I could be a “baseball player”. I was such a tomboy then, but of course I turned into a feminine woman, still knowing that the best game in town is baseball. I am so sad for you and wish you a speedy recovery. Say prayers because that will help you along the way.. Do all the PT and the right stuff to get better. Exercise your whole body to stay in tip top shape and that should take some of the sadness away because you will be keeping busy. Do not stay away from others, but let them embrace you.
